Erasmus+ Teachers incoming in “CSM de Vigo”

Sabrina_Zelic was born in Sarajevo in 1967. There she completed elementary school and musical high school under supervision of Professor Neda Stanković. In 1990, she finished her studies at the Zagreb Music Academy under supervision of the renowned pianist, Professor Pavica Gvozdić. During the studies she had numerous solo concerts and chamber music concerts, taking part in many local, national and international competitions and winning numerous awards and recognitions.

Her musicality, temper and high technical skills won her a government fellowship for studies at the prestigious P. I. Tchaikovsky State Conservatory in Moscow where she received advanced training under supervision of Professor G. Mirvis (assisted by I. Plotnikova) in 1991/92. She completed her postgraduate studies there in 1996, under the supervision of the great Russian pianist Nikolai Petrov who describes her as a “high-quality musician with a good feeling for form and sound”. She also learned a lot from her collaborations with renowned artists such as Evgeny Timakin, Rudolf Kehrer, Arbo Valdma, Alexander Satz and Elisaveta Ginzburg.

Since her first solo recital at the age of 13, Sabrina Zelić has been permanently active as a piano performer. She had numerous recitals in cultural hubs of Croatia, Italy, Austria, Germany, Russia, Tatarstan, Slovenia, Serbia, Macedonia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. As a solo-performer she performed with the Sarajevo Philharmonic Orchestra and she also participated in the projects of the Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra.

She is a member of the piano duo East West (Sabrina Zelić- Rustem Kudoyarov) whose performances have received critical acclaim. The festivals she performed at include European Music Days in Munich, Ohrid Summer, Sarajevo Winter, October Culture Days, Europe-Asia Contemporary Music Festival in Tatarstan and the international chamber music festival Lubenice Music Nights. The performances of Sabrina Zelić were broadcast by Croatian Radiotelevision and by the radio and TV stations of Moscow, Brjansk, Detmold, Florence, Udine, Sarajevo, Pristina, Belgrade, Mostar and Skopje.

For a series of successful concerts in the “Chopin Year” and for her personal dedication and contribution to the Fryderyk Chopin Society, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Poland awarded Sabrina Zelić the Medal for Merit to Polish Culture in 2010.  She is committed to the promotion of the Russian Piano School and the appertaining pedagogical literature. Her translations were published in Tonovi, the periodical of the Croatian Association of Music and Dance Teachers (S. Eisenstadt: Tchaikovsky, Children’s Album, Tonovi No. 61).

She is also fully dedicated to her teaching at the Zagreb Music Academy, where she combines the traditions of Zagreb and Russian piano schools.
